Western Inn Veterans were formed around 2007 and went on to secure many honours during a very successful period under the guidance of manager Alan Oliver. In their heyday, Western managed to attract a number of quality players from all over the county who boasted a wealth of experience. With their continued success, Western Inn landlord at the time, Malcolm Putko decided to start a 'B' team in 2010, to ensure local players were also able to partake in the beautiful game in their latter years.
Following the departure of Alan Oliver in 2012 the 'A' team found players and results hard to come by and at the end of the 2012/13 season withdrew from the league. With Malcolm Putko due to leave the pub trade during that season, he approached player Anthony Tucker to look after the 'B' team. Tucker managed to bring in a number of new players and ex-colleagues and although results were not the greatest, player numbers were good and the team generated an excellent team spirit and managed to get to the Supplementary Cup Final that season, losing out to Wendron Vets 3-0.
By the 2013/14 season, Malcolm Putko had now departed from the Western Inn, but the players of the B team decided to continue with the team. They formed a club committee, sorted out their own affiliation, insurance etc and continued to run the team as 'Western Inn' initially playing home games at St Dennis, but now playing at Foxhole FC.
At the start of the 2016/17 season the decision was made to rename the club to 'AFC Western'. During that season they enjoyed success on the pitch notching notable wins against some top teams including eventual champions St Dennis and secured a second placed finish in the league. They also reached the Knockout cup final, but were soundly beaten in the final with St Dennis gaining revenge with a 6-1 victory.
At the start of the 2017/18 season, the club once again changed their name. This time to Foxhole Veterans
